ELK Stack/Logstash/Kibana Engineer (TS preferred)

Job description

HallieMorgan Technologies is seeking an experienced ELK Stack Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and integrating the Elasticsearch - Logstash - Kibana stack, configuring log file processing, and working with application developers to integrate legacy applications into the stack. This position will create application profiling, automation and performance monitoring dashboards as well as security information and event management (SIEM) dashboards.

This is a hybrid on-site/remote telework position, but the candidate must live in the Washington DC area, as some work will have to be performed on-site.

Emphasis will be on tuning and logstash ingestion, the successful candidate must be experienced and competent with GROK processing, GROK configuration and ingest file processing. The successful candidate will also have to implement the Elastic cluster to be fault tolerant and scalable.

Required Education/Qualifications

  • A BS or Higher in IT, Mathematics or related field

  • 4+ years' IT Experience

  • US Citizenship required

Required Skills

  • 1 Year of experience using Elasticsearch's ELK Stack

  • 1 Year of experience using log file ingest processing using Ingest or Grok Processor

  • 1 Year of experience using Kibana to create custom visualizations and dashboards.

  • Experience installing and configuring the ELK stack.

Desired Skills

  • Installing, Configuring and Implementing ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana)

  • Experience programming Java JDK 1.8 or newer.

  • Red Hat OS Administration

  • Apache 2.4+ Administration and configuration

  • Location: DC Metro Area
