HallieMorgan Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to support a mission-critical environment within DHS. This comprehensive position includes all aspects of cloud engineering including design, implementation, operation support, upgrades and maintenance.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years professional experience designing, deploying, and operating Azure-based solutions

  • Hands-on experience with Azure core services: Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks (VNet), Azure Load Balancer, Application Gateway, Azure Firewall

  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code in Azure: ARM templates, Bicep, and/or Terraform targeting Azure

  • Strong Azure identity and access management skills (Azure AD, RBAC, Conditional Access, Managed Identities)

  • Deep understanding of network security configuration in Azure (NSGs, ASGs, Azure Firewall, Azure DDoS Protection, network peering, routing)

  • Experience managing large data center infrastructure and hybrid cloud integrations (ExpressRoute, VPN, migration planning)

  • Experience performing physical data center tasks: racking/cabling servers and network switches, power/cooling coordination, and detailed device labeling/documentation

  • Experience deploying and configuring Microsoft Intune for device management, endpoint configurations, and policies

  • Experience configuring Azure file storage solutions (Azure Files, Azure NetApp Files, SMB/NFS shares, access control and backup/replication)

  • Practical experience with Azure security and compliance: Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Sentinel, encryption at rest/in transit, key vaults, and security baseline enforcement

  • Experience conducting vulnerability assessments, prioritizing findings, and implementing remediation (using tools like Azure Security Center, Qualys, Nessus, or similar)

  • Proficiency with containerization and orchestration on Azure (AKS) and serverless options (Azure Functions)

  • Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps tools in Azure ecosystems (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)

  • Strong Linux and/or Windows server administration and scripting skills (PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python, Bash)

  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability in Azure (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights)

  • Experience designing for high availability, backup, disaster recovery, and cost optimization in Azure (Azure Site Recovery, Azure Backup, cost management)

  • Relevant Azure certifications preferred (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Security Engineer, Microsoft 365/Intune certifications)

  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills; ability to collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams in an Agile environment


Experience

  • Design, deploy, and maintain Azure infrastructure

  • Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code

  • Manage identity and access: Azure AD, RBAC, Conditional Access, Managed Identities, and secure access patterns

  • Deploy, configure, and administer Microsoft Intune for endpoint management, device enrollment, and policy enforcement

  • Design, implement, and manage Azure file/storage solutions (Azure Files, Azure NetApp Files, storage accounts, backups, replication)

  • Perform vulnerability assessments, prioritize findings, and lead remediation efforts using Azure Security Center/Defender, Sentinel, and 3rd-party tools

  • Operate and maintain large data center infrastructure and hybrid environments, including migration planning and ExpressRoute/VPN connectivity

  • Execute physical data center tasks: racking, cabling, labeling of servers and network switches, and maintaining accurate asset documentation

  • Build and maintain monitoring, logging, and observability (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights) and respond to incidents

  • Implement backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions (Azure Backup, Site Recovery, replication strategies)

  • Automate operational tasks and runbooks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and scripting (Python/Bash) and integrate with CI/CD pipelines

  • Maintain security and compliance posture: encryption, key management (Key Vault), baseline configurations, and audit readiness

  • Collaborate with application teams, security, operations, and stakeholders to plan changes, reviews, and deployments

  • Produce and maintain runbooks, network diagrams, change logs, and detailed operational


Required Education/Qualifications

  • A BS or Higher in IT, Mathematics, or a related field

  • 4+ years' IT Experience

  • US Citizenship required

  • CompTie Security+

  • MS Certified Azure Solutions Architect

  • MS Azure Security Engineer Associate

  • MS Azure Administrator Associate
